Frequently Asked Questions
Quick, honest answers — especially the “is this GTA VI?” ones. (It isn’t.)
Is GameTown VI: Last Copy related to GTA VI?
No. GameTown VI: Last Copy is an unofficial parody/satire game with original fictional branding, characters, and gameplay. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive. The name is a wink at blockbuster hype culture; the game itself is entirely our own. The longer story is on the parody page.
Is GameTown VI an official game?
It's officially ours — an independent, fan-made parody project — but it is not an official product of any major publisher, retailer, or console maker, and it doesn't pretend to be.
Is GameTown VI free?
Yes. GameTown VI: Last Copy is completely free to play. No purchase, no account, no in-game payments.
Can I play GameTown VI in a browser?
Yes. It's built browser-first in Godot 4 and hosted on itch.io. A desktop browser is the best experience; click into the game once to capture your mouse for first-person controls.
Is this a parody game?
Very much so. GameTown VI satirizes launch-night hype, scarcity panic, rumor cycles, and big-box retail chaos — using a fictional store, fictional items, and fictional brands throughout.
What is Last Copy mode?
Last Copy is the core gamble: hold all three launch-night items (The Game, The Console, The Controller) at once and the exit unlocks immediately. Escape for a +50% score bonus, or keep playing for a higher score while reinforcement shoppers flood in and the store gets steadily worse. Full details on the Last Copy page.
Does GameTown VI use real brands or real game assets?
No. Every brand, logo, item, character, and asset in the game is fictional and original (plus some CC0 public-domain character models). No real store names, no real console designs, no official art, no leaked material.
Is GameTown VI a leak or early release of GTA VI?
No. GameTown VI is not a GTA VI download, browser version, beta, early access build, leak, or preview — and this site hosts and links to no leaked material. It's a free, original parody game about the hype itself.
