About GameTown VI: Last Copy

A free fictional parody game about the funniest weather system in gaming: launch night.

What it is

GameTown VI: Last Copy is a first-person maze chase set inside GameTown — a fictional neon big-box game store — on the biggest launch night in its fictional history. You race AI shopper bots for the three items everyone came for: The Game (GT VI), The Console, and The Controller. Collect the full set and the exit unlocks on the spot. Then comes the real decision: run for the door and bank the escape bonus, or linger for a higher score while the store fills with reinforcements and gets genuinely worse.

It’s a five-minute arcade run with a local leaderboard, five original weapons (one of them summons a lion), secret doors disguised as shelving, and a death screen that says the two cruelest words in retail: SOLD OUT.

What it is not

It is not GTA VI, not a real store, not an official anything. Every brand, item, character, enemy, and asset in the game is fictional and original (plus some CC0 public-domain character models). No real retailer names, no real console designs, no official art, no leaked material — ever. If you want the longer version of how the blockbuster hype era became the joke, read the parody, explained.

Where it comes from

The ingredients are old and beloved: first-person maze games, arcade score-chasing, retail satire, and the very real theater of midnight launches — the lines, the folding chairs, the one glowing copy left on the shelf. GameTown VI compresses that whole emotional arc into one store, one night, and one increasingly bad decision to stay for more points.

Who’s making it
